Since July 1, 2017, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been officially positioned as China's national strategy, connecting Hong Kong, Macao and nine cities in the mainland into an economic system that has reached the level of a world-class bay area and a world-class city agglomeration, and has become a global advanced manufacturing center, an important innovation center, and an international financial, shipping and trade center. Hong Kong's transformation from a city of 8 million people to a huge market of 70 million people, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) offers a huge business opportunity for Hong Kong people, but it is also a challenge.
Through 14 interviews, this book provides an in-depth understanding of whether Hong Kong people can benefit from the development of the Greater Bay Area, understand their entrepreneurial situation, and whether the characteristics of Hong Kong people can accompany them to face difficulties. The interviewees are located in the "9+2" city clusters of the Greater Bay Area, namely Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Zhaoqing and Jiangmen, and are engaged in different industries, including the World Chamber of Commerce, high-tech, e-commerce, education, fitness, sports, film and entertainment, organic farming, ecological tea farms, French coffee shops, etc. Their stories illustrate a number of national reforms and provide a meaningful reference for young people who are interested in developing in the Greater Bay Area, or who are still hesitant to do so.
