The Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promulgated in February 2019, proposes multi-faceted co-operation in the areas of economy, science and technology, education and infrastructure, focusing on the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao in the Pearl River Delta region, as well as the nine cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing.
The eleven essays included in this book take into account the situation and perspective of Hong Kong, and reflect on the four aspects, especially the development space and challenges. The first focuses on exploring the new potential of GBA cooperation, the second focuses on how to stimulate technological innovation in the GBA, the third focuses on entrepreneurship and the cultivation of new industries, and the fourth focuses on tourism and living.
