Herbal tea is not only an authentic health drink in South China, but also a traditional and innovative commodity, which has become a popular culture in Hong Kong. Herbal tea seems ordinary, but its related culture is far-reaching and broad, and it has now been listed on the national list of intangible cultural heritage.
Published with the support of the Partnership Project of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme, this book systematically organizes the local herbal tea culture, covering the origins of herbal tea, species compatibility, commodity trade, regulatory marketing and peripheral culture, etc., presenting the characteristics of herbal tea culture that is both traditional and innovative, and highlighting the subtle interaction between Hong Kong society and herbal tea culture.
